We're finally up and running on our own host and involved with "beta" testing!
Here's what we are doing now:
- We are creating our Editorial Team and Advisory Board – see our links for more information.
- We are arranging additional Sponsorships, advertising/product placements, and/or other mutually beneficial collaborations with appropriate entities. We would like to thank the individuals (and their organizations) who have already embraced our vision.
- Presently, we are introducing the site through word-of-mouth while we continue to negotiate the above relationships. We anticipate the need for doing so in advance of any large-scale public announcements, such as through media releases.
- We would like a small number of Entrepreneurship Articles, as long as article submitters understand that we are still testing our systems and processes.
- For any others, do realize that we are testing our systems and ironing out glitches. If you have problems, you may contact our Founder and Executive Director using our online form (and please do).
One Goal, One Passion - Original Entrepreneurship Articles
EntrepreneurshipArticles.com is designed to collect a growing repository of original entrepreneurship articles--published here for the first time. Our quality control process entails a two-step process. First, before articles are posted for live display to the viewing public, they are reviewed by human editors. Second, our unique "ten bulbs" ranking system provides the opportunity for public review. Because we also administer an Entrepreneurship Articles Awards Program, authors and editors are encouraged to submit their best work., which of course, are embedded with helpful information for the would be entrepreneur, practicing entrepreneur, researcher, journalist, or analyst.
Of course, quality articles are embedded with helpful information for the would-be entrepreneur, practicing entrepreneur, researcher, journalist, or analyst. Although the site's initial design--based on a robust content management system--was geared to accommodate primarily text based submissions, content shall also be construed to mean photographs, audio, video, and other material to satisfy audience demands.
According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, the vast majority of businesses (99.9 percent) can be characterized as "small" businesses, with fewer that 500 employees. 72 percent of the 25.8 million businesses in existence today have no employees. We also know that 27 percent of employing businesses have their primary location in a home (as estimated by the National Federation of Independent Business). Finally, we know that most businesses use some form of bootstrapping to get started and to manage their ongoing operations. Bootstrappers may use financing resources such as credit cards, home equity loans, or money from friends, family members, or personal savings, intentionally. They might also use the cash that they generate from customers or the generous repayment terms that they negotiate with suppliers to launch their bootstrapped business. And, yes, this site itself was founded in the proud tradition of bootstrapping!
As this site continues to collect Entrepreneurship Articles, it is becoming more and more a valuable resource. We wish to reward contributors with an Awards Program, and by promoting their original articles and careers in additional outlets through an aggressive outreach program.
Each time a entrepreneurship articles author's submission is achieves a "ten bulbs" popularity ranking on this site, we hope that he or she will gain additional recognition and local publicity by sharing this information with media contacts in his or her community. The most recent submissions appear on our home page, and our Editors--aided by a sophisticated "bulbs" popularity and ratings algorithm--periodically select the best articles to disseminate in other formats, such as printed publications and compilations. In short, EntrepreneurshipArticles.com is the place where authors come to showcase their best original work and their talents, and to be recognized.
For both authors and visitors, we also strive to create a sense of community and provide helpful resources in the form of information, interpersonal networking, news, analysis and editorial opinion. The primary benefit of any community is the support that individual users may find as they congregate with one another. Some community members also feel a sense of self-gratification by helping others. Although entrepreneurs often have a "lone wolf" image, successful entrepreneurs are teambuilders, problem solvers, and leaders who have mastered the art of reciprocity.
Our Business Model
EntrepreneurshipArticles.com is based on an Internet business model known as a "content site," which can also be characterized as a publisher site. Content sites can be distinguished from other types of sites such as traffic sites (otherwise known as directory or portal sites), or e-commerce sites that are designed to sell products or services as their primary purpose. In the case of e-commerce sites, their revenue base is typically associated with sales efforts to convince visitors to purchase single or multiple products, or to assist visitors in shopping for those products (and our articles are strictly screened to exclude blatant sales pitches for authors' products and services).
Revenue sources for content oriented sites typically include a mixture comprised of fees for advertising placements, commissions, sponsorships or access fees (which could include memberships). Visitors may also be asked for contributions in the form of a donation. We do not charge submission fees, access fees, contest entry fees or any other fees, because we believe in administering a legitimate Awards Program based on merit rather than our own earnings potential. Thus far, we have not asked for donations. However, EntrepreneurshipArticles.com must and does ask you to support our sponsors (which are obvious in the form of links and banner advertisements). We also provide a selection of promotional merchandise (such as T-shirts, caps, plaques, et cetera). We only receive a small percentage of the proceeds from the sale of that merchandise, but we do appreciate seeing our name displayed in the public).
Yes, even this site itself has a "Story," as does its Founder:
