Editor's Guidelines
BootstrappingStories.com Editors oversee an important process on this site. Bootstrapping is a challenging path, and we want to do everything that we can to help entrepreneurial bootstrappers by providing a supportive community where their stories can be told, shared, celebrated, and promoted.
As with any definition of "quality," it is often the case that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Because of our sophisticated technological backbone and "boots" rating system, we can expect that the viewing public will provide feedback as to what constitutes highly regarded stories. Thus, the primary role of our Editors is not to censor stories as they are submitted, but rather to impose generally accepted standards for textual content such as clarity, spelling, grammar, and the like. Unfortunately, another role which our Editors must fulfill is that of enforcing site policies, such as disallowing content that is objectionable (as defined under our Terms of Service).
Our Editors seek content that is relevant as a start-up Bootstrapping Story as compared to articles, sales pitches disguised as stories, SPAM, pornograhy, or "junk" content. In addition, our Editors will not accept material that is inappropriate or in violation of site policies or our Terms of Service.
We ask our Bootstrapping Story submitters to "be nice," and to recognize that we are trying to create a great site, and a community where bootstrappers can tell their stories, and be recognized. By the same token, we ask our Editors to be supportive, constructive in their criticism, and remain focused on helping Bootstrapping Story submitters successfully navigate the submission process.
